About
The main online version of Turning the Pages (TTP) is a graphically intensive web application that draws a 2D book with page animations in real time. We want everyone who uses TTP to have access to all the rare and unique pieces of work we're able to showcase with the online version. We have therefore developed TTP Accessible, which conforms to WCAG 2.1 AA specification to provide access to all page images and any supplementary text or media that is available in the main version.
Why do we have a separate accessible version?
In order for us to conform to WCAG guidelines we follow point 5.2 and provide an alternate version, TTP Accessible.
How are we doing?
We believe we've achieved our goal of Level AA accessibility. We monitor the website regularly to maintain this, but if you do find any problems, please get in touch.
Exceptions
As well as books TTP also showcases single-sheet items as Deep Zoom images. These can be maps, charters, artwork, paintings or letters. Currently single-sheet items are not included in the TTP Accessible version.
